How to Identify Oaks

Would you like a project to improve your observations of the natural world in your own neighborhood?  And a way to teach your children some natural history?
Try your hand at learning to identify the various oak species around the Park.
We would also like to find the Biggest, Healthiest Pin Oak and welcome nominations.

To help you find and identify as many species as possible, a Presentation on Oaks is attached.  Several  "unknowns" are shown below, to start you off.  More will be posted as the trees leaf out.
